VIDEO/ Her Water Broke During a Live Newscast – Viral Moment as Anchor Delivers the News While in Labor

An unusual and heartwarming moment has captured the attention of global media and social networks, as U.S. news anchor Olivia Jaquith continued delivering the morning news live for three hours—even after her water broke just minutes before the broadcast began.

The extraordinary event took place at CBS6 Albany, where Jaquith was on duty as the morning show anchor. She began feeling contractions and soon realized her water had broken. Still, she chose to remain in the studio and continue the live newscast, informing the public not only about the day’s top stories, but also about her very personal situation.

“I’m fine and I’ll stay at the desk as long as I can, but if I suddenly disappear… you’ll know why,” Olivia said calmly and with humor during the live broadcast.

Her colleague Julia Dunn also commented on the moment at the beginning of the show, saying:

“We’ve got some breaking news this morning—literally. Olivia’s water has broken and she’s currently delivering the news… while in labor.”

Speaking later to The Times-Union, Jaquith explained that she could have headed straight to the hospital, but decided to stay at work to help pass the time more easily:

“Having the whole team around joking and keeping things light helped me manage the contractions better,” she said.

Initially, she believed the contractions were false alarms, but quickly realized labor had truly begun.

After wrapping up the morning show, Olivia headed to the hospital with her husband, and less than 24 hours later gave birth to her baby boy, Quincy. The newborn has already become an internet sensation, as the moment his mother went into labor live on air has gone viral worldwide.

“It was love at first sight,” Olivia shared when recalling the first moment she held her son.
