Bajramemaj: Demokratë drejt qeverisë Rama, Lapaj refuzon ofertën për ministër
Gazetari Anesti Bajramemaj ka zbuluar zhvillimet e fundit nga kampi opozitar, duke folur mbi zërat se kryeministri Edi Rama mund të përfshijë në kabinetin e tij emra nga radhët e Partisë Demokratike.
Sipas tij, ftesa publike e Ramës për bashkim politik “në emër të integrimit” nuk ka mbetur vetëm në deklaratë, por pritet që disa ish-zyrtarë demokratë të kalojnë në poste të rëndësishme në administratë dhe bashki.
Sa i përket Adriatik Lapajt, kreut të lëvizjes “Shqipëria Bëhet”, Bajramemaj theksoi se ky i fundit ka marrë një ftesë zyrtare për t’u bërë pjesë e kabinetit “Rama 4”, por nuk ka pranuar.
“Lapaj ka pohuar se ka marrë ftesa zyrtare nga socialistë për poste në qeveri, por nuk ka pranuar. Nuk është bërë e ditur cili ishte ndërmjetësi apo çfarë posti konkret i është ofruar”, tha gazetari.

“Ndër rreziqet e identifikuara, është edhe hipoteza e një angazhimi të madh ushtarak, ku sfida shëndetësore do të jetë kujdesi ndaj një fluksi të madh viktimash nga jashtë. Kjo është çështje për sistemin tonë shëndetësor – të parashikojë trajtimin e pacientëve ushtarakë në sistemin civil të kujdesit shëndetësor”, thuhet në njoftimin e ministrisë franceze të Shëndetësisë.
Ky zhvillim vjen pas deklaratës së kreut të mbrojtjes gjermane, Carsten Breuer, i cili tha se NATO dhe forcat e Gjermanisë do të jenë në gatishmëri gjatë stërvitjeve ushtarake ruse.
Breuer theksoi se nuk pret që forcat e Vladimir Putinit të sulmojnë territorin e NATO-s gjatë stërvitjes Zapad 2025 në Bjellorusi, por shtoi se Gjermania “do të jetë në… gatishmëri”.
“Nuk kemi ndonjë tregues se po bëhen përgatitje për sulm nën maskën e kësaj stërvitjeje. Por ne do të jemi vigjilentë – jo vetëm forcat gjermane, por edhe NATO”, theksoi ai.
Këto zhvillime vijnë mes frikës globale se bota është në prag të një Luftë të Tretë Botërore, e cila, sipas shefit të NATO-s Mark Rutte, mund të shkaktohet nga Rusia dhe Kina. Ai paralajmëroi në korrik se sulmet e kombinuara nga liderët e Kinës dhe Rusisë mund të nxisin një skenar lufte botërore dhe ta çojnë planetin në prag të katastrofës.
Sipas Rutte-s, Kina do të përpiqet të pushtojë Tajvanin, ndërkohë që paralajmëron se shefi i Kremlinit, Putini, mund të sulmojë territorin e NATO-s – mes frikës se ai po synon shtetet baltike: Estoninë, Letoninë dhe Lituaninë, të cilat dikur ishin pjesë e Bashkimit Sovjetik.
Gazetari dhe moderatori Flavio Qarri ka shpërthyer ndaj Top Channel me një kritikë për ndryshimin e sezonit të ri në Për’Puthen. Ndër të tjera, dje u shpërnda lajmi se Neda Balluku do luajë këtë sezon të Për’Puthen rolin e kryeredaktores, vendim ky që sipas Flavio Qarrit është cenim ndaj punës së gazetarëve.
Mendimin e tij ai e shpjegoi më gjerë në rrjetet sociale:
“O Topi, mos ia fut me top. Më falni, po Balluku nuk mund të bëhet kryeredaktore. Nuk kam gjë me të serioziisht, por është cenim i gjtihçkaje për të cilën punon një gazetar gjithë karrierën dhe jetën e vet.”
Qarri shprehu se sipas tij, Neda Balluku nuk ka kompetencat e duhura për të mbajtur rolin e ri që i kanë caktuar:
“Si mund të drejtojë një redaksi me njerëz të trajnuar për një punë dikush pa lidhje me atë punë. Unë nuk e ndjek Për’Puthen dhe nuk besoj se ka shumë vend për gazetari aty, por kam ndjekur punën e kryeredaktores që u zëvendësua dhe jam i tronditur.”
Nedën bëjeni jo opinioniste, po aksionere po të doni, por fjalën ‘kryeredaktore’ mos shkalloni ta deformoni,” përfundoi ai kritikën e tij.
Një aksident tragjik ka ndodhur pasditen e së hënës në autostradën Levan–Vlorë, në afërsi të fshatit Panaja.

In the wake of unimaginable loss, two grieving families are turning sorrow into a plea for change—determined that a single violent act will not define their children’s lives. In a community torn apart by bloodshed inside a sacred space, the families of 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski are remembering their children’s boundless spirits and the devastation left behind after a gunman opened fire during a school Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
The lives of Fletcher and Harper were cut short when a 23-year-old former student opened fire through the church’s stained-glass windows. The children were just steps from their classrooms when the attack began. Outside the school, Fletcher’s father, Jesse Merkel, delivered a raw and powerful tribute: “Yesterday, a coward decided to take our eight-year-old son, Fletcher, away from us. Because of their actions, we will never be allowed to hold him, talk to him, play with him, and watch him grow into the wonderful young man he was on the path to becoming.” He described a boy happiest with a fishing pole or in the kitchen, bright and joyful, deeply loved. He asked the public to “remember Fletcher for the person he was and not the act that ended his life,” urging parents everywhere to give their kids “an extra hug and kiss today.”
Harper’s parents, Michael Moyski and Jackie Flavin, remembered their daughter as “a bright, joyful, and deeply loved 10-year-old whose laughter, kindness, and spirit touched everyone who knew her.” They spoke of the crushing impact on Harper’s younger sister, who adored her big sister and now faces an unthinkable absence. “Our hearts are broken not only as parents, but also for Harper’s sister… As a family, we are shattered, and words cannot capture the depth of our pain.” They asked that Harper’s memory fuel action: “No family should ever have to endure this kind of pain. We urge our leaders and communities to take meaningful steps to address gun violence and the mental health crisis in this country. Change is possible, and it is necessary—so that Harper’s story does not become yet another in a long line of tragedies.”
In total, 18 people were injured, 15 of them children. Officials say all are expected to survive, crediting the quick work of staff and students. Jesse Merkel publicly thanked those whose swift actions “prevented a tragedy of many magnitudes more.”
Authorities identified the suspect as Robin Westman, who, according to police, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators recovered a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol and said more than 100 rifle rounds were found at the scene. A handwritten, four-page note believed to be a manifesto and now-deleted online content are being reviewed by authorities as they work to understand a motive. In the writings, Westman expressed remorse to family and acknowledged profound distress alongside an intent to carry out a final act.
Inside the church that morning, students and parishioners were thrown into chaos. Fifth-grader Weston Halse later described diving under a pew as gunfire shattered glass beside him. “My friend Victor, like, saved me though ’cause he laid on top of me, but he got hit,” Weston said. He and others were moved to the gym and locked in until the threat passed. Reunited with his mother later, he described feeling “super happy” to see her and “in shock” at how close the shots were.
Parents arriving at the scene spoke of terror and relief in the same breath. Carla Maldonado said her husband shouted for their children as they reached the church; they found their 7-year-old daughter in the parking lot and later learned their 11-year-old son had been hiding in the basement. “I am just incredibly grateful that this school did and had been preparing,” she said, “and also just incredibly sad and angry that this has to be a thing in any school.” Like many, she called the drumbeat of school shootings “a broken record,” emphasizing that even one life lost is too many.
From Washington, the President called for prayers and ordered U.S. flags flown at half-staff through August 31 in memory of the victims. Locally, vigils have filled parks and church steps as the community grieves, comforts one another, and searches for answers. Through their heartbreak, Fletcher’s and Harper’s families are asking the public to hold on to who these children were—their laughter, their kindness, their ordinary and extraordinary joys—rather than the horror that ended their lives. They are also asking for more than sympathy: they want change. They want leaders and neighbors to act so that no more parents are forced to stand where they now stand.
As Minneapolis mourns, those calls echo across a shaken community: remember their names, care for the wounded, and choose actions that honor the futures Fletcher and Harper should have had.
In 2010, a heartbreaking discovery in a Kansas home stunned even the most experienced law enforcement officers. A young boy with Down syndrome, just six years old at the time, was found hidden in an attic—severely malnourished, neglected, and left to suffer in silence by the very person who was supposed to protect him: his mother. His name is Giovanni “Govi” Eastwood. At the time of his rescue, he weighed only 17 pounds—roughly the weight of a healthy toddler half his age. His fragile body told a silent story of prolonged starvation and emotional trauma.
It all began when Govi’s mother, Rachel Perez, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants. During the arrest, law enforcement officers searched her home and found her other children. They were immediately placed in protective care. But there was no sign of Giovanni. When questioned about his whereabouts, Perez offered a fabricated story, insisting Govi was somewhere else. Her lie might have gone unnoticed if not for the instincts of the officers, especially Sergeant John Klingele, who had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right. They returned to the home for a second search.
They called out for Govi—nothing. Then, faint sounds, barely noticeable, led them to the attic. And there, in the dim, stuffy heat, they found him. “I’ll never forget that moment,” Klingele recalled. “He looked like a child straight out of a concentration camp—just skin and bones. We were told he was about to turn seven, but size-wise, he looked three, maybe.”
The boy couldn’t walk. He could barely speak. He was covered in his own waste, wearing soiled clothes, lying in an area that had no blanket, no toys, no light—no signs of love or care. His tiny frame showed signs of advanced malnutrition: hair loss, brittle and bowed bones due to rickets, and the wasting away of fat and muscle tissue. Medical professionals later confirmed that if Govi hadn’t been found that night, he would not have survived much longer.
Authorities believed that Perez had intentionally hidden him in the attic, possibly to avoid responsibility or to keep his condition from being discovered. Whatever the reason, the reality was chilling: Govi had been abandoned in every possible way—physically, emotionally, and medically. Rachel Perez was ultimately convicted and sentenced to eight years in prison for attempted murder and felony child abuse. Her actions shocked the community and made headlines across the country, as people struggled to comprehend how a mother could do something so cruel to her own child.
But what followed in the years after Govi’s rescue is a story of remarkable resilience, healing, and love. Govi, along with his two sisters, was taken in by their great aunt and uncle—Stacy and Joe Eastwood—who opened not just their home, but their hearts to these traumatized children. It wasn’t an easy road. In the beginning, Govi showed signs of deep emotional scars. He refused to sleep in a bed, choosing the floor instead, likely a result of spending so long in isolation. He flinched at gestures of affection, even misinterpreting high-fives as threats. He didn’t know what it meant to feel safe. But slowly, through patience, love, and care, Govi began to heal.
“The kid is magical,” said Joe Eastwood. “Everybody he comes in contact with, he just brings out a better person in them.” Over the years, Govi transformed—not just physically, but emotionally. His smile grew wide, his personality bloomed, and he began engaging with the world in a way that once seemed impossible. His teachers and caregivers describe him as joyful, thoughtful, and full of life. His strength inspired not only his family but the very officers who once saved him.
In 2016, six years after his rescue, Govi was reunited with the law enforcement team that found him. The meeting took place at the Sheriff’s Department, where a ceremony was held in his honor. Govi, now twelve years old, walked proudly into the room and shook hands with the officers, thanking each of them personally for saving his life.
He was made an honorary deputy, and presented with a special plaque—an emotional moment for everyone in attendance. According to his great aunt, Govi cherished the plaque so much that he slept with it that night, holding it close like a symbol of hope and safety. For Sergeant Klingele, seeing Govi again was deeply moving. “That boy is the hero,” he said. “Seeing how big his heart is, and how bright his smile is… It’s really good to see him.”
The reunion wasn’t just a chance to reflect on how far Govi had come—it was a reminder of the importance of compassion, justice, and what can happen when people refuse to give up on a child. It’s impossible to comprehend how a mother could neglect and nearly starve her child to death. But what’s even more powerful is witnessing the way love and care can rebuild a life, no matter how broken it once seemed.
Today, Govi is thriving in a family that truly cherishes him. He’s surrounded by people who encourage his growth, protect his joy, and celebrate his spirit. His journey is a powerful reminder that even after unthinkable trauma, recovery is possible—with love, support, and time. This story has touched the hearts of many. Some call it miraculous. Others call it justice. But to those who know Govi, it’s something even more profound: a testimony to human resilience, and to the unbreakable power of love.
