Jennifer Aniston Breaks Silence on Her Painful Split from Brad Pitt After Nearly 20 Years

In a rare and poignant moment, Jennifer Aniston opened up about her divorce from Brad Pitt during a new cover interview with Vanity Fair—nearly two decades since the highly publicized split.

A Moment of Raw Vulnerability

Aniston, now 56, revealed that revisiting her first post-divorce feature for Vanity Fair, titled “The Unsinkable Jennifer Aniston,” was emotionally jarring. She reflected,

“I just remember the experience of doing it—which was kind of jarring. It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs.”

The Therapeutic Role of The Break-Up

The actress also discussed how starring in the 2006 rom-com The Break-Up was unexpectedly cathartic. She acknowledged that executives initially hesitated to cast her so soon after her separation—but she welcomed the role, saying it offered both emotional relief and dramatic authenticity.

Friendship, Reflection & Healing

Aniston shared that she and fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow—who also dated Pitt—sometimes still chat about their mutual ex. When asked whether they talk about him, she quipped,

“Oh, of course. How can we not? We’re girls.”
